"It would weigh between 1,000 and 1,200 pounds and could collapse, then stack like a shopping cart with six to eight fitting into a typical parking space. It isn't just a car, but is designed as a system of shared cars with kiosks at locations around a city or small community." Is this an answer? Would you use one?
My take ... the biggest problem is accountability. Most consumers IMO don't think like the old days of "I treat someone else's property with great respect." Instead they go "Not mine don't care." and you get someone else's mess. ... especially a unmanned kiosk. Only place I can see this working is New Zealand - They have a different attitude (old small town attitude) and it even rubs off on the visitors.
Any other thoughts?
