Maybe we could have V1 Polo ... but it wouldn't be anywhere near as funny.:D

Your 'photo' brings up the subject; are we going to have a centralized "Photo Section" where we can post all the old and 'future' pictures, sketches, renderings, 'user ideas', etc. for the V-1? Also a good place to have 'folders' to place our own V-1 pictures after we take delivery.

rog,
The answer to that is YES! I think we should create a special forum for actual owners of the vehicle. We have time to do this, though, as you already know.

Derwin, the 'owner's photos' is far in the future, but what we need NOW is a place to centralize many of the diagrams (for new members) of the V-1 that have been seen on the FTR site (ie. Ian's original concept [already on the Homepage], some of the others that show the dimensions, options [luggage/ski racks], the 'second version' (side & overhead), some 'screen saves' of the animation, some of the 'user generated' ideas (AZE and my avatars), and especially the 'soon to be released' rejected concepts, and the FINAL DESIGN with all the different views, engineer drawings, and perhaps some 'construction/testing' photos that Ian may release.
Actual photos of our own V-1's could just be added in a regular thread; "Owner's V-1s", and be included in the same post, like AZE did above.

Yes, but that is just another 'Thread' with photo/video embedded in each post. I was thinking along the line of"
http://trikketalk.com/photopost/
Where members can have their individual 'folders' or a folder on a particular topic (ie. V-1's Evolution, showing all the design changes over time; in ONE location). Adam can help setting this feature up.

We will have that discussion with Derwin.
The biggest problem with hosting videos and pictures on the site directly is that it starts to make for a lot of overhead (overhead means server space and bandwidth =$$)
That is why most BBS's only allow people to post elsewhere then embed a picture or video that is hosted on another site. Some don't even allow direct hosting of Avatars.

Hello! I want this site to be open to doing EVERYTHING and ANYTHING that the members want to do, regardless of the bandwidth it will take. Please get together with each other and devise a way to organize everything that you can dream of doing on this website.
The idea of letting members have thier own "individual" space on this forum is a GREAT idea. Try to work on implementing this idea, and I will take care of the bandwidth.
I want this to be the BEST site possible for everybody.

Anyone with input on this ... your suggestions would be appreciated.
The current site does not have a photoalbum software as a free-be so we need to look at add-in's and hosted solutions.

I am currently working on a way that every member can have their own "space" on this website. A place they can put personal information, photos, videos, and things like this. I think this will be a MAJOR addition for club members.
Let me know what you think.

On another vBulletin forum I'm working on we installed the Coppermine image gallery. I did not do the install so I don't have the link but to my understanding it was not that hard. It's not been fully put online yet so I don't have much more information. I'll let you know more when I find out more but do check it out yourself.

Well, here's PhotoPlog, which is a free vBulletin mod.

It's got a 4.56 out of 5.00 rating and the installation looks rather clean. But I have no idea if it fits our needs.
I use photobucket to store photos that I can the use on pages, store avatars, etc

Timon I couldn't help but laugh that the name is coppermine! I live in a copper mining town it is actually a mining camp of sorts everything is owned by the mine and you have to work for them or work as support for them to live here! I just thought it was funny.:)

Derwin I am impressed by your abilities with computer stuff. Like many people I am worried about band width and filling up this space with data so if you are not worried, I will go on to other things. I have learned to only worry about the things I have control over.
I would like to see the design pages however as I am sure the 1.5 door is the way to fit the masses and get volume sales. However unless a way to get five manufactring sites per state is found, we are going to be in a long waiting game to see much variety in models.

According to an article on autoblog.com:
Top Gear? NBC, America's remake network, has ordered a pilot of an Americanized Top Gear. Expect to see all the usual Top Gear conventions, including three presenters; a masked Stig-like driver; a private test track; taping in a hangar before a live audience; and (probably D-List) celebs driving midsize cars. Unfortunately, you won't see the program's British hosts, Jeremy Clarkson, James May, and Richard Hammond. And this is where it gets dicey. You see, those guys are the reason Top Gear is what it is. They're clever and witty, and they endear themselves to gearheads with segments like Clarkson's hilarious Peel P50 "review."
