I know in the survey we got a choice of colors. Ignoring that, what color would you get your V-whatever-it-will-be-called in

I want mine in black with gunmetal trim:cool:

I'd have to wait and see them in the flesh... a couple of my preferred colors might not work with a vehicle like this... I'll know when I see them.

As much as I like black, in AZ it's really not the smart choice.

I would probably go with white with blue pearl essence!

I'm a bit of a history buff, I think I'll have mine as a tribute to the Flying Tigers. I can just see the Red Necks here in Mississippi now as I pass them!

It's a pretty color, but it sounds toxic.

I think I'll go for a deep blue with metallic flake.

Hey, I like the color of the V-1 that is on the 360 degree view that was posted many moons ago. I liked the medium gray with tinted windows. Cool!! Put a Clean DICE for engine and a tow hitch on the back and west ward bound I would be. Flying the roads. Russ

Not a bad choice not really my cup of tea though, I think I pictured something different!

I like the lightly flourescent blue that Honda put out the old Civic Si Coupes in. Good visibility, stylish!

I like that combo too. But I think a blue and yellow combo would be very striking as well. VV was talking about having every separate body panel plastic piece available in whichever of the "standard colors" you like, i.e. mix and match.

I have tried to follow the shape lines in the 3D body model we have to determine where the breaks are between obviously separate panels. Some can be identified. But they don't seem to agree with that mix and match panels type brochure thing that I saw in one of the threads once ... Celtics thread I think.

Here is a pic that shows a clearly defined stripe kind of shape on the side that I found in the model that I colored white. It also shows the latest version of a canard like side mirror with built-in turn signal that I was playing with.

We will of course have to wait to see how the final production shell pieces are created as separate panels for us to pick our color combinations. But for sure, I will start with this blue version and see how I might be able to create some interesting accent shapes in another color that goes with it. I'm toying with either gold (yellow?), maroon, or red for the accents.

The Candy Apple Copper is Candy Apple Red over a base coat of Gold instead of Silver... I had that on a MGB and it was very pretty ... the other one I liked was Candy Apple Red over Black Perl which is Candy Black Cherry.

My V1 would be a dark Metalic Blue-Grey. As the light shines directly on it there would be blue highlights, while in the shadowed areas it would be dark gray.

Oops, DANGIT! I HATE when the pub. library comp. throws me offline!

Anyway, I would also have logo's/trim done in blue scotchbrite reflective tape or decal. I think the bright blue on the gray background would be cool as hell.

I think you have the right idea. agr:1

Actually, the color choices will be limited to whatever the "Standard Factory Colors" are. Venture Vehicles is going to make the body shell panels out of color-impregnated ABS plastic. Good idea I think, in that scratches won't show that way. agr:1

However, painting over ABS plastic is REALLY HARD. I researched the subject a month or two ago and found that there is really particular material preparation required in order to get any kind of paint to adhere to the plastic. That means that a paint job would be QUITE expensive $$$.

I hope that VV will arrange and separate the final production body panels in such a way that they come together in interesting accent shapes that we can get in different standard factory colors.

Then, in addition to that, we can add adhesive decals or tape striping to individualize our vehicle. It should not be too difficult for adhesive based add-ons to work. But the adhesive might well leave permanant marks on the ABS plastic if you or some future owner wanted to remove the add-ons.

There is a whole lot that can be done with decals. Nowadays, you can design just about any fancy colored shape on your computer and just take it to a sign shop. They can print out just about whatever you like onto an adhesive backed material and cut it out to any shape you like.

This is gonna be FUN! 2thumb:up

Thanks for the info Jack. I knew about the panels being made from ABS, but I was not aware that it was going to be expensive to do a repaint over, say, basic white. If it is too much, I might just go with dark gray. BTW, do you recall the old JESUS logos from years ago? What I had planned was to put STEALTH on the sides in that format with the scotchbrite. If you don't recall, I will try to get a drawing onsite.
