Announcing the "Guess the date of the Alpha" contest!
While we're all waiting for news from Venture Vehicles, here's a little contest to keep you occupied.
Pick the date that the Venture One Alpha moves out the door under it's own power, and you will win a fabulous prize! Yes, it's your very own "Fly The Road Club" coffee mug!

But wait! That's not all! This is not an ordinary FTRC mug that you could buy through the FTRC store (http://www.flytheroadclub.com/forums/showthread.php?t=281)! No, this mug will also be personally autographed by Derwin himself! This is sure to be a valuable collector's item that you can tell your great-grandchildren about someday!
The rules:
You have to post your pick in THIS thread, not in the related poll thread, and make sure you explicitly POST your date selection.
The winner is the one who picks the date closest to the date the Alpha actually rolls out of its building under its own power, without going over the date. So if someone picks August 30 and someone else picks September 1, and the Alpha rolls on August 31, August 30 would be the winner.
The winning date is the date the Alpha rolls out the building under its own power, not the date on which Venture Vehicles announces this milestone.
You can't pick "Today", "Tomorrow", or "The Day After Tomorrow" as your date. In honor of his ribald support of the Venture One, MiracleMan89 will be declared the honarary winner if the Alpha ends up moving in the next 72 hours (August 28, 29 or 30).
As an exception to the prior rule, your very first pick is allowed to be a "back-date" pick, in the event you feverently believe the Alpha actually rolled on July 15, but that VV has been keeping the news quiet. After your first pick, any subsequent picks you make must be future dates.
Pick as many dates as you want, but only your last choice counts.
If multiple people choose the same date, only the first person choosing the date wins the prize; the others just win the right to brag "I predicted the date the Alpha would run!"
Employees of Venture Vehicles, their family members, vendors and bookies are not allowed to pick dates. However, they are allowed (and encouraged) to heckle the dates chosen by others.
Contest ends the minute Venture Vehicles announces the fact that the Alpha has been completed and tested. Any entries dated after that time won't be counted.
If you want to attempt to bribe Venture Vehicles to first drive the Alpha on the date you have chosen, by all means you are welcome to try. Just make sure you post all details in this thread about any bribery attempts you make, though; it will make for entertaining reading.
