Maybe this has been mentioned already (I'm new here), but considering that a large portion, if not most of, the people interested in driving a tilting vehicle are the sort of drivers that also like to do ther own shifting, a manual transmission should at least be an option in this thing. Look at the motorcycle market, despite the various segments including trikes, one segment that has never done well even though we've had the technology for literally decades is bikes with an automatic transmission. Could it be that the majority of those who want to lean into turns also want shift gears on their own?

I personally agree. However, I believe that it was planned to come standard with a CVT automatic.

Ah, the CVT. No real gears, thus none to shift. Personally, give me a 6 speed manual, or at least a good automatic and paddle shifters.

Give me a manual stick shift that looks like a jet fighter control stick! Afterburners are optional except on Jack's ride.

Speaking of Jack, where you at? No posts in a while.

If we manage to get a manual, you can put any kind of knob on it you want. If it's an automatic, maybe we could get a handle that looks like the throttle control for a fighter jet. Whatever it looks like, I would prefer a manual gearbox, or at least the ability to select which gear I'm in.

Actually the selectable automatics aren't to bad as for feeling like your doing something. Given the fact that many Americans do not know how to operate a manual transmission, you get the need for an automatic. At least with an automatic where you can select which gear your in you have some degree on control. I personally prefer a manual, been using one most of my life, but I do not represent the majority of Americans. Of course, looking at the majority of cars sold in America, the 'typical' person is happy with a dull box on wheels.
I for one, prefer the unusal, the atypical. I want something that when I drive by makes people look, and not because it looks like a clown's car. I like it when people come up and ask me about my car. Sadly, the car I had that did that for me went tits up, and now all I have is my truck. So, I am eagerly awaiting the V3, with whatever it comes with.

CVT automatics are terrible!! I once test drove a Dodge Caliber with a CVT tranny, you couldn't feel any torque, the engine made a lot of noise, but you weren't moving very quick. You couldn't feel your head tilt back between shifts, it was the biggest let down of that car! Please use a normal standard or auto tranny!!!

Agreed. CVT works ok with an electric car due to high torque of motor, but with an ICE it's just pathetic.

I can only speak of my personal experience with a CVT. We have an Altima Hybrid with a CVT. You CAN feel the torque. This car has a JUMP to in when you put down the pedal, which means it's on the gas engine. I expect this is a function of the amount of HP the car has, not the transmission. And it's whisper quiet. In parking lots with the car on electric, I have to be careful of pedestrians that do not hear the car. Not that I want it, but a noisy CVT would at least help in that regard. One nice thing about a CVT is it allows the motor to stay in the "sweet spot" for RPM's. At least if its designed right. So I don't care if it has a 6 speed, automatic, or CVT. Just as long as it's well designed and well made and ON THE ROAD BEFORE I'M TOO OLD TO ENJOY IT!!!!!
