Back in he 80's I rescued a 70 something Yamaha from an early grave in a buddies garage. After a few weeks of work, I had her road worthy, and took her out for my first ride. She ran a little rough, but I had my first motorcycle! I'll never forget that day when another rider went past, and gave me the finger. You know the one I mean. Take your hand off the handlebar, a quick flick of the wrist, and point your index finger at the other rider. The one that says "Hey buddie, nice ride". The one that let's you know you're part of the club.

Well when the Venture hits the road, it's going to be a completely new driving experience. And for those first few years, before Detroit buys out Ian and starts mass producing them, how are we, the new generation of road pilots going to acknowledge each other on the road? I've never been a big fan of the wave or the nod, a bit too casual for me. The point is fine, but is that too old school for such a futuristic vehicle. With a new breed of pilots "flying the road", maybe a salute is the way to go. What do you think?

Rich,

After the first week, we're going to be so tired of the extra attention we may not want to acknowledge each other

If I'm ever lucky enough to actually get one of these, I'll be so blown away the first time I meet another V1 that my "salute" will be my jaw hitting my chest.

The "Peace sign", V for Venture.....quickly followed by the index finger up...One! Or
"Shaka", thumb and pinky waggle....leanin' loose.
Curves Ahead!

We may have a winner!

Nothing too difficult please... I know I'm getting old... the other day I pulled a muscle giving the finger to a driver who cut me off! =D

I like the peace symbol idea to represent the V1!

How about the V for victory two fingers instead of the V for Peace. And yes there is a difference. Winston was NOT flashing a Peace sign. Not that most people could tell the difference at the closing speeds we are talking about. Victory just seems much more appropriate.

I agree! I think "V" for VICTORY is the way to go.... v:i:c:t;o;ry1)

It won't matter. By the time Ian's "big guns" get through, it'll probably be called the "Smedley."

Hey! then we can all wear an S on our chests! dr:ive1)

I'm thinking we should acknowledge one another as surfers would. Heck, driving one of these bad boys is akin to surfing the road!

My wife and I used to have matching cell phones (I still use the same one) with multi-colored LEDs on the battery pack that randomly flashed every so often. We were quite pleased to notice that whenever we set them close together they would both start flashing in sync. 2thumb:up I said that obviously they were in love just like us.

Think maybe we could talk Ian into building in a similar function? V1's automatically turn on their hazard warning lights when they sense that they are within 100 yards of another one.

That would sure make our organized road trips and gatherings a flashy experience! wh;aa;aa;t1

That would have some complications for the local law enforcement!

If we could just get Ian to keep a promise we would be in business!
