Every six months or so I revisit the Moller site for any movement in their M400 development, but today I discovered buried in the rhetoric a reference to a company that just signed a large contract for their Rotapower rotary engines for use in their three wheeled flying car AND two three wheeled versions for road only "Flying the Road". With a contract supposedly signed for these engines, development appears to be fairly far along, and they may be ahead of the Persu V3. Check it out.

WOW, Exciting but not for me. There ground version will not compete with the V3, very boring. I am not clear, is the ground version $7,000 to $8,000? Think I will stay on good old windy country roads to do my flying.

I've been watching Moller since the 1980's when he first announced his "Flying Car". Here we are in 2011 and still nothing. I'm sorry, but this stuff doesn't excite me anymore.
Until they get a working model up in the air AND available for retail purchase, I'll remain very skeptical. By the way, Moller has been taking deposits on his flying car for over a decade. I even heard Michael Jackson had a deposit on one about 10 years ago! He hasn't lived to see it, and I don't know if we will either. (But I do HOPE we will!)

One observation is that their early projected schedule (2009) has only been delayed by one year due to financing difficulty - and this for a $85,000 Kit! This is why I really doubted the 'Persu' claims of no progress due to no financing. It just didn't make sense to me.

A couple of years ago a Dutchman tried to come up with a flying version of the Carver.... Never heard from him since. As it turned out, government regulations prohibit any of these sort of (low-flying) vehicles. Will not be that different in other EU countries, I suspect.

Yeah, we've been talking about this for several years now.
Here's a thread that we started back in 2008 talking about this Flying Carver....
