The following is an email I've just sent to Gordon Murray - not sure if he'll read it but I just had to try:

Dear Mr Murray,

Whilst being stuck in traffic on my daily commute I had the idea that if I could get you, Chris van den Brink and Harry Kroonen (the inventors of the Vandenbrink Carver: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carver_(automobile) ) in the same room you could come up with an amazing vehicle.

The 'Carver', I believe, didn't succeed because of its cost. Being a bespoke product being built by hand it was never going to get to the point where the project was going to make money.
Unfortunately, and excuse me for speaking my mind, I don't think your vehicles will succeed because they're simply not desirable. What the 'Carver' offered was something that was 'sexy' and 'fun'. It offered the 'fly the road' feeling a biker experiences to the more conservative car driver.

The obvious skills that you have in design (the McClaren F1 is the most beautiful car ever built IMHO) and the build processes you've invented could bring down the costs of production of an exciting vehicle like the 'Carver'.

I'm not alone in my desires for something new and exciting in the motoring world - there's a whole following out there for a tilting three-wheeler - see the link below:

Persu Mobility, BMW and the CLEVER project lead by Bath university have also investigated similar concepts.

As a final point: I have just seen a Carver up for sale on Ebay. It's a 2008 model (660cc Turbo) that has an asking price of 30k GBP. I think that shows that this type of vehicle is extremely desirable.

If you've read this far - thanks for your time!

Yours Sincerely,
