Interesting that they say it was "used" at Air Shows for PR, but never say it was "FLOWN"!
" It was created to lift off and fly ", another cleverly crafted phrase to say...
"IT DOES NOT WORK".:p

I guess this thing was "used" as air shows just as a "prop" to show what will be in the future. I'll tell you what, this thing would really be incredible if they ever really did put it into production. And, believe me, they DO have the technology to develop a vehicle like this, but I just don't think they want it available to the public.

As part of my research 15 years ago, I came across a ton of information about devices like this, and it really is viable. This particular device was just a prototype prop, though, and is most likely being sold as a "collectors item" type thing.

They also posted a little tid bit on autoblog.com

The Sky Commuter is registered with the FAA with a valid number (http://registry.faa.gov/aircraftinquiry/NNumSQL.asp?verified=1&NNumbertxt=2001C), so it appears that the information in the listing is legit.

Our research is leading us to believe that each and every time one of these machines was lifted off the ground, it crashed. We don't say this very often, but our advice would be to leave this one a true, dedicated trailer-queen.
