NYPD tests Vectrix electric scooters

The New York Police Department will begin road testing four of the plug-in Vectrix scooters early next month -- part of a broader campaign to make the nation's largest police department a greener one as well.

MacGowen, president of Vectrix, said the Vectrix scooters, assembled in Poland, are the first all-electric vehicles to be government-certified to travel on any highway, street or road.

Good move NYPD, excellent way to put some 'testing miles' on the product to see how they stand up to daily use. Hopefully the LAPD or CHP, will have some V-1's to 'TEST DRIVE and evaluate (AFTER we get OURS!), in a year or so.
