Hi guys,
My sincere apologies for missing our bi-weekly post. The honest answer is that we have the bi-weekly posting calendarized so we make sure we have time to put it together and get it posted and for some reason, it didn’t pop up on my Entourage calendar last week, and with everything going on, we just missed it. We made a commitment to you, we blew it last Friday and we really apologize.
That’s the bad news. The good news is that everything is moving ahead and on schedule. We have had a number of meetings the past two weeks with our engineering & design partners and we are getting very close to solving some of our most critical challenges. I can’t begin to tell you how hard everyone is working to not only get the desired engineering and performance specs, but at a cost that will be acceptable in the marketplace.
In fact, we have been busy meeting with senior automotive engineers, who are experienced with Tier 1 manufacturers and car companies, that are interested in joining the Vv team and bringing us a wealth of knowledge in automotive engineering, design-for-manufacturing, and safety & quality. Those individuals have already created significant value for us, even in our initial meetings, and we are optimistic that we will be successful in getting one, or more of those individuals to join our team in an executive capacity. We hope to have everything finalized shortly after the New Year.
One of next major milestones is this Thursday -- when we’ll be reviewing the full-size foam mockups of the two final design candidates -- “C” & “D”. Our design partners have already incorporated many of the comments you have made since we posted them a couple of weeks ago. We too, have only been able to see these designs in one-dimensional renderings so we are extremely excited to be able to see the full-size models.
We have received some tremendous input from not only you guys, but from some extensive consumer research we conducted over the past two weeks as well. Our goal is to review the models on Thursday, then internalize it over the holiday break and be in a position to make a final decision after the first of the year. We will post the final direction just after the holidays. Stay tuned.
We can’t thank you enough for all of your help and incredible insights and suggestions throughout this process. I’m fairly certain that this kind of process has never happened before in the automotive industry. (And given the results, I’m not sure what the heck took so long!)
Again, our sincere apologies for our “bad” on last Friday’s posting. It shouldn’t have happened and it won’t again. Since our next formal posting isn't until Friday January 4, everyone here on the Vv team wants to wish you and your family a happy and safe holiday season. We can't wait for another incredible year in 2008 and look forward to you being a part of it.
Thanks again for your incredible support—Happy Holidays from all of us at Team Venture!
