I thought this was an interesting article on Autobloggreen (http://www.autobloggreen.com/2009/06/03/russian-taxi-company-adds-carver-to-fleet/) worth sharing:

We don't often hear about the Carver One (http://www.autobloggreen.com/2006/08/19/three-wheeled-hybrid-carver-bike-car-on-the-way-can-you-say-coo/) here in the United States, probably because it's not actually available for sale in this country. Apparently, that's not the case in much of the European Union and Russia, where a taxi company called 1Motto (http://www.1motto.com/page1.php) has reportedly purchased a Carver One to shuttle occupants to their destinations as quickly as possible, even through rush hour traffic.

Motorcycle taxi services are becoming increasingly popular in many densely populated urban areas, especially in Europe, since vehicles with a single track (two wheels in line with one another) can more easily fit through gaps in traffic. Some passengers, though, seem to have a distaste for two-wheelers, feeling that they aren't quite as safe as they'd like, and this is where vehicles like the Piaggio MP3 (http://www.autobloggreen.com/tag/piaggiomp3/) and the aforementioned Carver come into play. Due to its full roof, the Carver can be used all season long and in any kind of weather.

Part of my own experience in Russia and the Ukraine was like some other European drivers - they don't care squat about the lines in the lane. One puts as many vehicles as one can in the space provided. So, it would seem that having a maneuverable small vehicle would be ideal for someone that needs to get someplace fast. Of course one has to be a good fighter pilot of a driver and know the roads as your vehicle can be consumed by a pothole.

AZE.... I didn't know you've been in Russia. You are exactly right about the driving, at least in Moscow and surrounding suburbs! When I was there a few years ago, it was like the wild west! People would be zooming around from lane to lane without any regard for "their" lane at all. It was rather exhilarating, actually.

Owning a CarverOne would be PERFECT for those living in Moscow.

I've driven in Italy, Spain, Greece, Austria, Switzerland, GB, Germany, Luxemborg , and parts of Africa.... Most Europeans totally ignore any lane markings! Except on the Autobahns & autostradas.

The one thing you have to watch out for in tight traffic like that is when you lean.

BTW, that's a mighty expensive "taxi".

I'm okay with lane markings and using turn signals. It's the speed limits that I pay no attention to whatever! :burning:rubber: Prudent speed for the conditions is my rule. The heck with the speed limit signs. Those are all at least twenty MPH under prudent speed.

And on the two lane twisting rural mountain roads where I live, all bets are off. Those roads are my fun driving places. :burning:rubber:

Lots of twisty rural roads and highways especially down near the Mississippi River. There is no way to tell the "safe" limits of your ride if you don't test them yourself!r:o:f:l:2:2:1:rolleyes:

It not the true information. My Carver was never used as a taxi. I simply participated in the advertising action of this taxi-company.
