British design student has Ryan Skelley has created renderings of a two-seat electric roadster for 2025 that would commemorate the centennial of the 1925 Sunbeam Tiger land speed record car (see inset).

http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/04/1925-sunbeam-tiger-lsr-car.jpgWhile the original Tiger used a V12 engine to hit a record 145 miles-per-hour, Skelley hypothesizes that his new concept would use lithium titanate batteries to power an electric motor and get to 60 mph in just 2.3 seconds and reach a limited top-end of 160 mph. The range is also claimed to be 800 miles, although like all the other specs, this is purely theoretical... given the size of car, battery technology would have to make some huge advances over the next 15 years to achieve that kind of range.

The racy concept is also based on greener materials with the tubular frame made from recycled aluminum and the seats constructed of soy foam and biofabrics.
