Thanks for the warm welcome ;-)
I think you were talking to AZE, he's in here too...
He actually told me about you being interested but couldn't provide me any more details. If you like we can discuss offline.
The machine is one of our show carvers. We were presenting the carver in germany over summer.
I am not extremely flexible pricewise but let's hear your offer =y: And let's see if my accountant likes it too 2thumb:up

Actually, Hans told me about your vehicle being for sale. His club username is NortonF1. He told me that you had a used Carver for sale, and told me about your website. Very nice, by the way!
I'll send you another email pertaining to this.
I think it would be fantastic if I could get my hands on the Carver that you are selling. One very important question, though..... Would this be something that could be EASILY licensed for use on American roads?
Derwin
Derwin, the fact that it is a motorcycle may be less of a problem. It still has to clear those requirements - turnsignals, mirrors, etc. There may be some emission issues though although I am not sure if those apply to motorcycles.

Regarding Derwins post.
Ah yes. Hans is also called AZE for some kind of a reason. Think this is some pilot language, he's a captain...
SIf you leave me a number I can also call you tomorrow after I've spoken to some people about getting a number plate in the US. Not sure how it works exactly but there must be some fellers around who know. Well, if not we keep the german plate on ;-) I heared sherifs don't like it but what are they gonna do?! Can't really check how long you have been in the US with that car.
Anyways, there must be some guys around who did this before. I saw already photos with american plates. No one here?
I am actually on +49-69-40156961. My office number. GMT+1 by the way v:i:c:t;o;ry1)

By the way, thanks for referring to my website. We started offering the so called "Carver One Tours" in Germany. Should do this page in english as well. When I get a minute...
Getting a lot of agencys involved who wants to sell the product. And Christmas tickets sale went quiet well for the first year. Must be a great idea for the american market too. Obviously with Venture One's....
This thing is keeping you busy a lot. Currently seaking for a sponsor who is painting the cars with their logo and helping us to refinance the project. As usual, it's about money and my staff want's to be payed too.
Not everyone is a Carver or Venture enthusiast ;-) Unfortunately.

About the number plate:
The way it works here is getting a car number plate / permit with a motorbike insurance. I suppose in the US it's more streamlined, isn't it? It might change here soon. The thing is that no one every did such a thing before. At least not letting it tilt ;-)

The problem we would have here is in getting it plated by the Secretary of State of any particular state. In my case it is Illinois. Any vehicle to receive a plate would have to have EPA and DOT certification. Does the Carver have certification from these 2 agencies? I could always put a manufacturers plate on it, though, if I were a manufacturer! This is what Persu mobility did with the Carvers that they brought into America.
I have run into so many problems with little 150cc scooters in the past. I have imported scooters in the past that did NOT have EPA or DOT approval, and they were held up at customs. Customs will not even allow a vehicle through unless they see the documentation. At least this has been my experience.
Believe me, I would LOVE to own that vehicle. Heck, I would give my left arm to own it! But I don't think I have the ready cash that you are asking, and I don't think I could get it licensed if I did have the 40K.
Derwin
Derwin, carverconcept is referring to a license plate, motorcycle permit or license and motorcycle insurance. If that is all that is necessary, I don't see a problem.
Is there any way to contact Howard at Persu about what they did to get their Carver in the country?

Must have lost something in translation for I am not Hans and Hans is not me ... I live in the USA in the state of Arizona and don't own a Carver.
But not a big deal.

The problem is in getting it APPROVED to begin with. The way that Venture Vehicles (Persu) got it done is by getting a MANUFACTURERS license plate. By doing this, they did not have to go through the normal procedures.
I thought it was fairly easy to bring a vehicle into America. But I have since found out that it is not....unless they already have DOT and EPA approval.

ah, good to know. Well if I head over and finish my Route 66 tour they won't stop me, wouldn't they??? I am dreaming of a whole Carver fleet, but those prices make it impossible indeed.
Yes, it's some bucks for only THREE WHEELS! Those sexy crazy dutch people, hmmm...
I will post some more pictures anyways for those who might be interested.

Just a thought: why don't you share some Car(ver)s like it's common with the planes. This is lowering down the price.
Should actually consider doing that with AZ ;-)
Did anyone see AZ's Carver?! Lovely orange ears. He promised me to upload some photos.

Is there no hope for a cheap Venture One / Carver One made in China?
I hope I don't concern anyone with this matter, at least Carver Europe doesn't like this subject... Obvious, why. They have invested millions in a factory in Germany. Propable a mistake. Others stick to the assembling.
What do you guys think?

I have been importing products from China into America for many years now. The quality is not as good in China, but I think it would be FANTASTIC if a company in China would make a cheap knock-off that costs around $10,000. Heck, I would be one of their first customers!

Offering a Carver One Titanium Color from June 08, perfect condition, black leather, 9.000 miles, new front tire, soft top, spoiler, MP3 Radio, carver bag, everything included.

Price to be discussed. Minimum 45.000 USD or 33.500 EUR (plus tax)

Why are you selling one of your fleet cars? Did you need a new front tire after only 9000 miles because of wear, or another reason?
NortonF1
01-07-2009, 08:49 AM
After 9000 miles it will probably be #3 fitted already, the front tire typically last about 5000-6000 km.
Remember, its a motorcycle tire and has only about 6mm thread when new, and the minimum legal in Germany is 1,6 mm thread.

Regarding the tire I can agree with Norton.
We are constantly selling used carvers from the fleet. Especially winter time is not very busy, we currently have snow and minus 10 degrees.

It obviously depends how you drive but as I know NortonF1 there must be a lot of rubber missing, great fun!:burning:rubber:

Yeah, I guess I just have to find someone to invest into my ideas before I can get some toys like you guys! Who knows maybe I can come up with the next "tickle me Elmo" or something! lol I have an idea that I think would be big but finding a legitimate business to pitch it to is the real problem plus I never got the intellectual properties protected by patents. So I will have to get that done first!

Hey men! Carver looks great. Let me me know in case you need additional cars in the UK for this or the other campaign. Always good to share ressources. Obviously depends on the budget. And right steering is not an issue which is great!

I realize I am coming to these posts a couple of years late but I was introduced to the Fly the Road through the article that Jay Leno had in his garage.
I was under the impression that the vehicle he was driving was a street legal US version.
Did I miss something?
