Special Announcement:

Ian Bruce is no longer officially with Persu Mobility.

I just got off the phone with Scot. We had a conversation that lasted from around 4:30pm to 5:00 today. We discussed many things, but the most revealing thing that came out was the fact that Ian Bruce is no longer an active part of Persu Mobility, or the Persu Hybrid project.

Ian Bruce has gone on to "pursue" other activities, one of which is his new business that we have all been talking about. I was told directly that Ian is no longer involved in the day to day and continuing development of this vehicle. Although he is obviously still the co-founder of the company, and is tracking its day to day progress.

This news does indeed run contrary to what I was told just shortly ago by Steve. I am upset that we were not informed earlier of this, but at least we found it out now. I had to directly ask this question to Scot in order to get the answer, and I'm glad I did.

We all had our suspicions about this, so it won't come as a complete surprise to some. But I still think this is a major news event for the company and this club.

The way it reads, to me, Howard is still with Persu Mobility, Inc.

Can you confirm?

Yes. Howard is still a part of the day to day operations.

From what Scot told me, Ian has gone on to pursue his new business venture.

Well Ian is an entrepreneur. I have a feeling that he is the type of person that sees a good idea or something he wants to try and goes for it.

I hope Ian does well in all that he persus (pun intended).=D

Like I have said before, Ian has the fire-in-the-belly. Being the co-founder of Venture Vehicles (now Persu Mobility), he is now multi-tasking off into another "vision". He is the Vision guy! =y:

I am feeling good about it. It makes me feel like the Persu Hybrid vehicle has achieved a state of development, funding and production that made Ian Bruce confident enough to let that team continue without his day-to-day hands-on. :cake:

So, Mr. fire-in-the-belly can and did follow another of his visions, confidence in hand. That sounds like a GOOD thing to me! 2thumb:up cool:thu:mb1

I agree with all of what your saying...kind of. But I just don't understand why he didn't come to us, or even to the Persu forum to announce it.

By the way, don't you love my new signature pic? :bounce:

Derwin, somehow I understand that the Fly The Road Club might not be one of HIS visions. With all Vision people, it's important to stay focused on YOUR visions! wh;aa;aa;t1

Besides, it's probably part of that "trickle-down" theory. LOL They will find out all by themselves ... in time. agr:1

No Derwin, I think your new signature pic is WAY over the EGO line! LOL I'm sure THAT will start a whole new FLAME thread over at FTR. :mad:exploding:

People do things for busness reasons that we are not priviliged to .... you have to ask yourself ... How much do you know of the workings of any vehicle manufacturer?

Timing is everything... !!!!

And we have learned a lot more than most about the Persu.

Hey Derwin, next time you chat with Scott, I've got a question to ask:

Who's the active 'Vision' guy now, the one driving the actual engineering decisions on the vehicle design? Is it simply a lead engineer from Roush? Or someone within Persu?

Well, when I spoke with Scot yesterday, he had just got off the phone with Howard Levine. He says that he speaks almost daily with Howard, and that Howard is intimately involved in everything that is happening.

As far as who is the "vision guy", I really don't know. It could be Howard. But I'll ask Scot next time I speak with him.

As co-founder, I'd expect Howard to be taking a bigger role right now. He hasn't talked to us much, but he's clearly a pretty sharp guy.

However, he's a lawyer by trade, and I don't know how much of a technical background he might have. I guess I'm more interested in knowing more about the technical lead person. Obviously there are going to be legal and regulatory hurdles to getting the Persu on the road, which Howard is probably well suited to handle, but I think the engineering issues are of more interest to most of us here.
