“Flying the Road” is the best description for driving this vehicle – a feeling unlike anything you’ve experienced.

The Technology:

"Leading Edge" vs. "Bleeding Edge", understanding the truth
There is a lot of buzz out there when it comes to emerging technologies. Myriads of pundits are all proclaiming extreme breakthroughs that claim to solve everything in one masterstroke while world-class companies continue to successfully evolve the state of the art.

Central to Persu Mobility's technology approach is one of recognizing that a combination of proven systems and components adapted to an innovative design and unique concept, beautifully integrated, can maximize the ownership experience in all ways, from driving dynamics to reliability to outstanding efficiency to environmental responsibility.

The new Persu Hybrid is tangible proof of this philosophy. Every component, from comfort and convenience items to the chassis and propulsion system has been selected to blend seamlessly into a total package.

As an example, the new Persu Hybrid chassis will incorporate the patented Dynamic Vehicle Control system, or DVC™, a unique patented Electro-hydraulic tilt-steering control technology, developed by Carver Engineering in the Netherlands, that will give the driver the ability to attain extreme lateral acceleration that rivals the best sports cars in the world while maintaining control and ride comfort.

Further, Persu Mobility has done an exhaustive study, evaluated numerous electric and hybrid configurations, and decided to develop the Persu Hybrid with a plug-in parallel hybrid architecture based primarily on performance, packaging and cost.
http://www.flytheroad.com/images/combustion_illustration.gif
Persu Mobility has made preliminary estimated power calculations using conservative assumptions. The assumptions made include a sub-optimal drag coefficient, 0.32, a heavier vehicle, 1,500 lbs., and a heavier driver, 200 lbs. Even with the aforementioned assumptions, the results show extraordinary acceleration performance, and maximum speeds of approximately 100 mph while achieving fuel economy of at least 75 MPG.

Looking forward, the company has anticipated the potential of emerging technologies and has the flexibility to adapt them as they reach market viability and deliver a superior customer package. This will assure that future Persu Mobility offerings will always have the latest and most proven technologies integrated into their vehicles.

Propulsion:

Proven Hybrid technology engineered into the Persu Hybrid doesn't push the envelope, it creates a new one
Fuel economy and low emissions are to be expected for small vehicles, and the Persu Hybrid is no exception. With the narrower shape and smaller size of the Persu Hybrid, owners will enjoy significantly less fuel consumption compared to other conventional vehicles.

Persu Mobility engineers investigated every conceivable electric and hybrid configuration and decided to focus further development efforts on a plug-in parallel hybrid architecture based primarily on vehicle performance, size, and value. The Persu Hybrid parallel hybrid will include an internal combustion engine, an electric motor and a CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission).

Safety:

Passenger security, a priority

Passenger security is a top priority in the development of the new Persu Hybrid. The Persu Hybrid is being designed for the ease, comfort and security of daily use incorporating car like safety features such as a driver airbag, side-impact rails and roof roll-over protection.

Equally important, excellent handling performance is an essential factor in the Persu Mobility approach. The patented hydro-mechanical tilting system at the heart of the Persu Hybrid chassis gives the driver handling capabilities that rivals today's best sports cars. This ability to maneuver around a potential obstacle can make that all-important difference when avoiding a collision.

Persu Mobility - sounds more like a wheel chair company, but I don't care what they call it - I want one!

Yea, they need to have it in the new Robocop movie and call it the Pursuit-One. Robocop says: "Your move Creep!"

What would it take for Persu to post the final exterior and interior designs as described by SEP?

Even if only to show off the new "circleP " logo on the PERSU Hybrid.

The interior layout is pretty cool - is that an iPhone I see on the right side under the vent?

I sure wish they would reconsider the early yoke style steering wheel design. I know for sure that the upper ring of the wheel will be right in the middle of the center GPS display...

You're right there; depending on driver height, something is going to be 'obscured'. Perhaps a 'Tilting' steering wheel would help; but a YOKE would be much better! And cheaper!

With the release of the cutaway drawing showing the DC-DC Converter and Battery pack, there has been discussion of loss of interior space on the FTR site.

I disagree, and here is my reasoning....

Converting the measurements given I get-
Btry L 21 5/8" x W 13 3/8" x H 5 3/4"
DC-DC Converter L 10 1/2" x W9 1/2" x H 3 1/2"

Looking at the CAD drawings provided to the FTR Club site, the brty & DC converter boxes would fit well below the original planned floor level. Therefore not neccesitating any raising of the seats.

IMHO it still appears the passengers legs fit into a cutout in the driver seat back and are not stradling the seat.

Of course this all assumes that the dimensions/design has not changed since we received the CAD files.

I believe the figures shown for the driver and passenger are drawn to maximum size - going to the CAD again I'm getting measurements of approximately 6'6" for the driver and 6' 1" for the passenger. I think I'm accurate to within one inch.

I'm hoping the FTR Club site will be getting updated CAD files some time in the near future as they are needed to produce "official" models ect.

Happy Holidays!!

Hmmmm. the "Passenger Security" schematic shows a new style of wheels and a completely changed front wheel mounting arm, on the left side no less. Anyone want
to speculate on how that might function? Ok, I will. I'm guessing there is an arm on both sides of the wheel and that they spread apart at the body connection. There must be some sort of slider arrangement at the hub which can push/pull the axel ends
to swivel the wheel. Or not.
Alooooooooha!

Sorry, but the "Passenger Security" schematic is the same one they had on the original site and should not be used for any speculation as to current developements.
